Abstract
Aims to provide ‘a reference of first resort’ for all those engaged professionally or otherwise in the fields of urban transportation planning, traffic and environmental management, traffic safety and highway design. Comprises a guide to almost all aspects of transport in urban areas and is split into 6 parts: issues, responsibilities and principles; the transportation planning process; traffic, safety and environmental management; highway and traffic considerations for development; development and design of highways and other infrastructure schemes; and application in Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales.
