Abstract

Details the amendments to Technical Booklets F1 and F2 (2012).

Document History

The changes to Technical Booklets F1 and F2 take effect from 25 February 2014. The previous editions will continue to apply to work started before 25 February 2014, or to work subject to a building notice or full plans application submitted before that date. The changes to Technical Booklets F1 and F2 take into account the recast of the European Energy performance of buildings directive (Directive 2010/31/EU) and amend guidance relating to high-efficiency alternative systems, buildings exempted from certain energy efficiency requirements and recognition of the term 'major renovation'. Regulation 43B 'Nearly zero-energy requirements for new buildings' comes into operation in 2019 and further changes to the Technical Booklets will be issued nearer the time. Also clarifies which regulations affect buildings of statutory undertakers. Department of Finance and Personnel for Northern Ireland is now known as Department of Finance.
