Abstract

Comprises a letter to Chief Planning Officers in Wales, which discusses new permitted development rights (PDRs) for industry, businesses, educational institutions and hospitals in Wales coming into force on 28 April 2014. The new regulations will: provide more flexible PDRs for industrial and warehouse premises, schools, colleges, universities and hospitals; provide new PDRs for offices, shops, financial and professional services; require the use of porous or permeable materials for hardstandings associated with industrial and warehouse development; provide PDRs for cycle and refuse stores; and provide greater protection for World Heritage Sites for the classes of development in the Amendment Order.
