Technical Advice Note (TAN) 8 database 2014 - review of wind farm development

Publication Year

2014

Document Status

Abstract

Comprises a summary of the output of wind farm schemes (over 5 MegaWatts (MW)) in Wales which are being considered, have been approved or are operational. The summary table differentiates between: projects up to 50 MW, which are determined under Town and Country Planning legislation; and projects over 50 MW, which are the responsibility of the UK Government. The summary table distinguishes between the different Strategic Search Areas (SSAs), as identified in TAN 8, as well as schemes outside of an SSA. The table also separates schemes which have been operational prior to, or since, the publication of TAN 8 in 2005.

Document History

Superseded by 2015 version. Supersedes 2013 version. Related to the following: TAN 8: Planning for renewable energy (NAW, 2005).
