Abstract
Concerned with that part of the rural-urban classification which categorises lower tier Local Authority Districts, Unitary Authorities, Metropolitan Districts and London Boroughs in accordance with the scale of their 'rural' and 'rural-related' population components, and their context - whether they lie within conurbations. This part of the Rural Urban Classification is referred to as 'the Rural Urban Classification for Local Authorities' (RUCLAD) and is available only for England.
