Abstract
Stipulates the performance criteria which apply to passive fire protection systems for structural steelwork. The structural steelwork is assumed to be loaded to the maximum permissible bending stresses specified in British Standard BS 449-2:1969. The test procedures and heating regime of BS 476-8:1972, Parts 20, 21:1987 are adopted where appropriate.
