Wildlife and countryside act 1981 - definitive map orders: consistency guidelines

Publication Year

2015

Document Status

Withdrawn

Abstract

Provided information and references to resources and relevant case law to assist in the interpretation and weighing of evidence on Definitive Map Orders.

Document History

Fourth revision, January 2015. Supersedes Wildlife and countryside act 1981 - definitive map orders: consistency guidelines (updated October 2010) (PINS, 2003). Related to the following: Definitive map orders (revised February 2007) (PINS, 1997). These guidelines were last updated in April 2016 and do not necessarily reflect current guidance. Following a review of the future of the guidelines by Department for Environment Food & Rural Affairs (DEFRA) and the Planning Inspectorate it has been decided that a single source of policy guidance issued by DEFRA would be more appropriate, efficient and user friendly. DEFRA will incorporate essential policy elements of the Consistency Guidelines into Circular 1/09 when they revise it.
