Abstract
Presents practical and alternative solutions for complying with the requirements to resist the passage of sound from other parts of the building and adjoining buildings, within a dwelling-house, for reverberation in the common internal parts of buildings containing flats or rooms for residential purposes and the acoustic conditions in schools.

It also applies to building work carried out on excepted energy buildings in Wales as defined in the Welsh Ministers (transfer of functions) (No. 2) order 2009. Main changes made by the 2013 amendments: The main changes which apply only to England, were to materials and workmanship. There were no changes to Part E of Schedule 1 to the Building Regulations 2010. Change made by the 2015 amendment: The change, which applies to England, from 6 April 2015, is an update of the reference to standards for schools. Came into force 06/04/2015.
