Abstract

The BREEAM domestic refurbishment scheme provides a way to design and assess projects with a focus on sustainable design and higher environmental performance. This guidance note covers various elements of the scheme, including its principles, how to use and engage with it, technical document advice, information on scoring and certification, and how to verify a building's certified rating. One of the primary goals of the note is to help users to reduce costs by eliminating the need to bring in an expert, where possible.
