Abstract
Explores the ecological benefits, long term performance and maintenance of using sustainable drainage at a purpose-built academy in Milton Keynes. Impermeable asphalt and concrete block permeable paving has been used for footpaths, car parks, cycle racks and paved areas and storage compartments are used for the surface water run off. The site also makes use of rainwater harvesting through water retention basins and a storm water sewer feeds into the wider Milton Keynes drainage infrastructure.
