Abstract
Gives recommendations and guidance for managing and assessing fire safety in premises with sleeping accommodation. Briefly covers general fire safety legislation and highlighting the fire safety duties to comply with. Looks at the 5 step process for fire risk assessment: 1 identify fire hazards, 2 identify people at risk, 3 evaluate, remove, reduce and protect from risk, 4 record, plan, inform, instruct and train and 5 review. Also provides further guidance for fire precautions, including preventative measures, fire detection and warning systems, equipment and facilities, escape routes, emergency escape lighting, signs and notices, quality assurance of fire protection equipment. Includes checklists and sample forms for information recording and historic buildings.
