Abstract

Comprises guidance to support local authorities in England (not London) in improving the management of local air quality and the processes and principles involved. Covers: an overview of the local air quality management (LAQM) process; roles and responsibilities; air quality management areas; air quality action plans; consultation; PM25 and public health; transport; planning and the Building Regulations. Also provides further information on other sources of advice and further practical guidance that local authorities may wish to pursue.
