Abstract
Aims to fill the gap in information provided about lifts designed and installed between the publications of BS 5588-5 and BS EN 81-72. Offers recommendations for improvement and maintenance of fire-fighting and evacuation provisions in existing lifts. Covers lifts for fire service use, evacuation lifts and looks at routine inspection, maintenance and thorough examination.
