Abstract

Sets out the installation requirements for antennas and supporting structures, for equipment with a range frequency between 30MHz to 1GHz received from a terrestrial transmitter or between 1GHz to 14GHz received from geo-stationary orbiting satellites. Aspects covered include insurance, site suitability, planning permission, customer's requirements, groundwork, test equipment, identification, customer relations, safety, terrestrial aerials and satellite dish antennas, signals, integrated receiving systems (IRS), cable and wiring, signal splitting, combining and impedance matching, outlets, terminations and telephone, motorised antenna systems, satellite receivers/decoders/positioners, precautions against damage and interference from atmospheric electricity and system safety.
