Abstract
Explains setting, what it is, its contribution to the significance of a historic asset and why it is important. Provides a set of principles for assessing the potential impact of development or land management proposals on historic assets, particularly World Heritage Sites, ancient monuments, listed buildings, registered historic parks and gardens, and conservation areas.
