Abstract

Chapter B1 of Guide B addresses heating system selection, design, commissioning, operation and management for most types of building systems. While the focus is on non-domestic, much of the content is applicable to domestic communal heating. As a whole, Guide B provides comprehensive reference material for engineers involved in the specification and design of heating, ventilation, air conditioning, ductwork, refrigeration and heat rejection, noise and vibration controls for HVAC systems. Follows the design process from concept to implementation and includes sections on strategic design decisions, design criteria, system selection, equipment and fuels.

Document History

2016 version separates Guide B into five parts (B0, B1, B2, B3, B4) plus a Combined Index. Replaces 2005 edition incorporating corrigendum issued 12 April 2016. Includes Appendix 1.A1 Hydronic system design. Corrigenda November 2016 - corrections to text.
