Abstract
Letter to all local authority chief executives describing the building safety programme established by the government following the Grenfell Tower block fire in June 2017. The aim is to ensure fire safety in high-rise residential blocks. This update looks at information gathering and sharing procedures, as well as covering legal powers and highlighting best practice from various authorities who are mapping their buildings or conducting building surveys.
