Gives safety requirements for permanently installed public playground equipment and surfacing, covering materials, design, manufacture, verification, reports and marking. Annexes deal with loads, structural integrity and entrapment.

Supersedes BS EN 1176-1:2008. National foreword contains information regarding impact attenuation testing and the UK committee have provided Annex NA with UK requirements to be used instead of Annex H.
