Abstract

How the climate of Ireland maintains and sustains Irish soils at elevated soil organic carbon levels, high levels of porosity, greater hydraulic conductivities and lower bulk density than in drier climates; quantifying the threats of soil erosion, loss of organic matter (or SOC), compaction, surface sealing (or urbanisation) and landslides across Ireland.
