Abstract
Provides guidelines for planning, developing and implementing a partnering arrangement. Covers the purpose, identifying partners and initial dialogue. Explores priority setting, risk assessment, agreeing on the scope, identifying the objectives, tasks and resources as well as roles and responsibilities within the partnership. Part of the process will need clearly defined levels of authority, relationship rules and dealing with complicated challenges often unique to the type of partnership being created. Essential elements will be a communication strategy, needs assessment, training and evaluation.
