Abstract

Provides planning, design, installation, commissioning and maintenance recommendations for fire detection and fire alarm systems in domestic premises. Covers fire risk assessment, system components, circuits monitoring, grades and categories of system, choices, types and selection of fire detector, location and siting, limitation of false alarms, audible fire alarm devices and audibility, fire alarm warnings for deaf and people who are hard of hearing, power supplies, wiring, control and indicating equipment, manual call points, zoning, remote transmission of alarm signals, radio-linked systems, electromagnetic compatibility, user instructions, routine testing and maintenance.
