Abstract
Provides recommendations for designing, installing, commissioning and maintaining evacuation alert systems used by FRS in buildings containing flats. Explores the need for these systems, responsibilities, variations from the recommendations, system components, monitoring, evacuation alert zones, sounders and audibility, arrangements for disabled people, siting, controls and indicating equipment, power supply, cables, wiring and interconnections, radio-linked systems, EMC, electrical safety, handover, and user responsibility.
