Introduces the application process for developments of national significance (DNS). Looks at community involvement, contacting the Planning Inspectorate, stages of a DNS application, what constitutes an DNS and requirements for some DNS projects to be carbon capture ready.

The Planning Inspectorate Wales division dealt with planning appeals, national infrastructure planning applications, examinations of local plans and other planning-related and specialist casework in Wales. Its functions were taken over by the Welsh Government in October 2021 and it is now known as Planning and Environment Decisions Wales (PEDW).
