Abstract
Provides an update on government planning activities. Covers: Business and Planning Act 2020 - outdoor seating, extending planning permissions, construction site hours, hybrid appeals and London Plan Spatial Development Strategy; regulations - use class reform, permitted development rights, fees for the construction of new homes, Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL) deferral and digitising planning; Written Ministerial Statements of 14 July 2020; consultations - England tree strategy, and Permitted Development Rights to support 5G and extend mobile coverage; wider planning matters - local digital planning projects, home loss payments under the Land Compensation Act 1973, neighbourhood planning support and government review of planning policy for flood risk.
