Technical Memoranda TM 54:2022 Evaluating operational energy use at the design stage

Publication Year

2022

Document Status

Abstract

Looks to assist in delivering on a project brief where an annual operational energy target has been set, by informing the development of the design, controls and operational strategy. Supplies a methodology which can be used when undertaking better-informed calculations of energy use in operation and in the production of performance targets and budgets so that comparison against measured performance in use can be undertaken. Demonstrates that energy performance is influenced by how a building is run and maintained in addition to how it has been designed and constructed.

Document History

Supersedes TM 54:2013 'Evaluating operational energy performance of buildings at the design stage' (CIBSE, 2013).
