Abstract
Provides recommendations for designing, installing, commissioning and maintaining evacuation alert systems used by FRS in buildings containing flats. Explores the need for these systems, responsibilities, variations from the recommendations, system components, monitoring, evacuation alert zones, sounders and audibility, arrangements for disabled people, siting, evacuation alert control and indicating equipment (EACIE), networked systems, power supplies, cables and wiring, radio-linked systems, EMC, electrical safety, and premises management. Includes examples for wiring and equipment configurations, calculations, log books and model certificates.
