Abstract

Relates to Celotex CW4000 PIR Insulation for Partial Fill Cavity Walls, a rigid polyisocyanurate (PIR) board faced on both sides with low emissivity facings, for use as partial fill insulation (with a minimum 50 mm residual cavity) in new external cavity walls with masonry inner and outer leaves, in domestic and non-domestic buildings. Additional requirements apply for buildings above 12 m in height and further restrictions may apply based on the reaction to fire performance. The key factors assessed include mechanical resistance and stability, safety in case of fire, hygiene, health and the environment, safety and accessibility in use, protection against noise, energy economy and heat retention, sustainable use of natural resources, and durability.
