Abstract
Relates to Kronobuild® Fast Shield, a PS flooring grade chipboard used in humid conditions, faced on each side with a melamine coating, for use on joisted domestic floor construction. The coating, together with sealed joints, provides temporary weather protection to the boards prior to completion of the building envelope. The key factors assessed include mechanical resistance and stability, safety in case of fire, hygiene, health and the environment, safety and accessibility in use, protection against noise, energy economy and heat retention, sustainable use of natural resources, and durability.
