Abstract
Part 1 considers the statistical implications of several existing specifications for concrete strength using as the principal measure of quality, the estimated proportion defective to the specified strength. The data was drawn from approximately 400 jobs where concrete was produced for highway structures and about 230 jobs where the concrete was used for general structural works.
