Abstract

Proposes a different approach to the protection of structural steelwork of composite bridges other than painting, focusing on enclosing the steelwork with plastic or other sheeting material to modify the environment to which the steelwork is exposed, particularly to keep out contaminants such as chlorides and sulphur dioxide.
