Abstract
Details the rebuild of the 16th century Globe theatre in London, which had to overcome a number of obstacles including financial crises, changing from a management contract to self-build, coping with commercial requirements, trying to achieve historical accuracy, and getting a timber-frame building with a thatched roof to meet local authority fire regulations.
