Abstract
Presents a brief overview of two papers looking at the future of medical and healthcare buildings in the UK. One argues for the humanising influence of architecture in hospitals and the other presents an American perspective on how good design and innovative provision can bridge the gap between readily available and overburdened hospitals. Looks at how Kingston Hospital, Surrey and Chelsea and Westminster Hospital are tackling these issues.
