Abstract
All free-standing walls must be stable under wind load and durable under service conditions. For simple plan brick and blockwork walls this guide gives rule of thumb guidance for stable construction. Guidance is offered on the choice of materials and on the practical details of construction which together contribute to preventing premature wall deterioration.
