Digest 409 Masonry and concrete structures: measuring in-situ stress and elasticity using flat jacks
Publication Year
1995
Document Status
Current
Abstract
Describes how compressive stress in members and local stress-strain behaviour can be measured with a flat jack. Flat jacks have three uses in walls and other structures (such as columns and beams): i) Measuring the local compressive stress field in a structure. ii) Measuring stress-strain behaviour. iii) Measuring the force required to shear an element of the structure: not described in this Digest.
