Abstract
The first edition, published in 1988 became the standard reference on ASR. Fully revised and updated, the second edition puts greater emphasis on the examination of finely ground surfaces of concrete samples and on the interpretation of crack patterns revealed by this technique. It upgrades the method of testing core expansion, and gives new guidance on the petrographic examination of hardened concrete. This publication deals with site inspection, sampling, laboratory investigations and analysis of results. It contains over 40 illustrations, plus guidance tables, flow charts and nine detailed appendices.
