Abstract

Reviews the use of crib walls and is arranged to follow the course of a project from the choice of using a crib wall, through design, to its construction and performance. The two main approaches to analysis, i.e. Monolith theory and Silo theory, are examined and analogies with infilled cofferdams are explored.
