Abstract
There are some significant differences in the approach adopted in the new European Standards concerned with the durability of wood and wood-based products and the specification of preservative treatments or natural durability when compared with previous British Standards. This WI Sheet provides an overview of the European approach. The timetable for acceptance and implementation of the standards is also unclear at the present time.
