Abstract
Examines developments in fire engineering and the protracted negotiations which often accompany their implementation. Case studies include using atrium as a smoke-exhaust route both with mechanical and natural ventilation. Examines use of computer modelling for thermal analysis, lighting, ventilation, fire and smoke prediction.
