Manufacturer spotlight: Improve building fire safety with ROCKWOOL®
ROCKWOOL® has launched a new fire barrier product that is tested in accordance with the latest BS EN standards. Fire Barrier EN replaces Fire Barrier and Fire Barrier Slab, giving specifiers a simple swap for new and existing projects since their discontinuation on 15th November 2024.

Fire Barrier EN is a passive fire protection solution designed to inhibit the spread of fire and smoke through concealed spaces within a building. Fire Barrier EN is available with a black foil facing on one or both sides, for single- and double-layer systems respectively. The product expands upon the scope of application available from ROCKWOOL, while streamlining the range to simplify specification.

Fire Barrier EN has been tested in a series of common applications including below concrete soffits and within timber joist construction. Steel, copper and plastic pipes, as well as timber beams and cable trays were tested with a 300mm sleeve of Fire Barrier EN stitched-back on each side.
