Designing Healthier Workplaces

ON DEMAND

How can open-plan, desk-filled spaces evolve into collaborative and creative environments that still ensure quiet, focused work and privacy needs are considered too?

Offices may not be the first place we think of when focusing on health and wellbeing, but the complex combinations of temperature, lighting levels, noise reverberation and interior planning can have a significant impact on health and performance.

Join our webinar to discover how offices can become more appealing and enjoyable places to work. Paul Swaddle, Head of Technical Solutions at NBS, will be joined by a panel of experts to discuss real-world case studies and practical examples of workplace wellbeing.

Speakers

  • Ben Channon, Author of "Happy by Design" and "The Happy Design Toolkit", Architect & Director at design-for-wellbeing consultancy Ekkist.  Ben will reveal how to create buildings and places that promote mental well-being and physical health.

  • Ann Marie Aguilar and Ethan Bourdeau, from the International WELL Building Institute, will discuss the WELL Building Standard and particularly the WELL concept of Comfort: creating environmental acoustic and thermal conditions that are distraction-free, productive and soothing.

  • Ben Hancock from Oscar Acoustics will highlight case study projects where acoustic comfort and reduced reverberation was achieved through a combination of design solutions, natural materials and innovative acoustic products.

  • Paul Swaddle, Head of Technical Solutions at NBS, will demonstrate how NBS Chorus and NBS Source help you specify better health & well-being outcomes and sustainable, high-quality workplaces.
  • Julian de Metz, a Founding Director of dMFK Architects, will talk through recent case study workplace projects. With recent experience of their own office reinvention, Julian will focus on re-imaging office space for social collaboration and designing warm, rich, textured, engaging workplaces that respond to the needs of colleagues and improve workplace wellbeing.
