Last year's event saw over 3,000 bookings made across more than 130 construction sites and this year's event - from Monday 27 March to Saturday 1 April - is set to be just as popular.
It's an unmissable chance to discover how the buildings and structures in your community are constructed and find out more about the diverse range of skills and professions needed on site. For students the event serves as an ideal way to kickstart a dynamic and exciting career in construction.
Open Doors visitors will hear directly from construction workers representing the breadth of the industry about their careers and experiences, and will be provided with a tour of the project so that they can experience the impact of construction on their local and wider communities’ first-hand.

Build UK Chief Executive Suzannah Nichol MBE said: “Open Doors is a fantastic initiative which helps tackle our skills challenges by demonstrating the huge impact of the industry on the UK’s economy and local communities. We are extremely proud of achieving record numbers as well as some fantastic feedback in 2016, and are being even more ambitious for this year’s event.”
