St John Ambulance is the country's leading first aid charity and can often be seen out and about at gigs, football matches and other events.

Over 400,000 people every year learn how to save lives through the charity's training programmes- including 250,000 in the workplace.

The charity aims to equip people with basic first aid knowledge for those crucial moments when it can make an enormous difference. In keeping with this aim, the organisation have recently launched two apps that offer lifesaving advice in the palm of your hand.

First aid advice app

The first aid advice app is available for Android, Blackberry® and iPhone® devices.

It contains easy-to-follow advice for a range of first aid scenarios including CPR, choking and allergic reactions.
