NBS provide pre-written preliminaries for use with a variety of contracts.
Why?
The JCT Prime Cost Contract is a ‘cost-plus’ contract arrangement. The work proceeds on the basis of a brief specification, drawings (if any) and an estimate of cost. The Contractor is paid reasonable costs plus either a fixed sum or a percentage of the cost, as a fee.
Why not NBS Scheduler?
This contract itself is not primarily designed for use with a separate pricing document, or Schedules of Rates, which is the principle that underpins NBS Scheduler.
